Metals bought inside an IRA must be held by the custodian at an approved depository; IRS rules treat taking possession of them as a distribution, which can trigger income tax and, before age 59 and a half, a 10% early withdrawal penalty. Noble's at-home storage and Royal Survival Packs apply only to metals bought outside the IRA with personal money.
